Where this number comes from
From the same math as the whole site, public in the methodology: for each half hour with restriction, curtailment = reference − delivered generation, never negative, summed over the year. The source is the ONS open data portal (CC-BY), wind and solar restriction datasets; the file this page reads is public at nameplate.com.br/usinas.json.
What this number does not say
Three limits, declared: most assets are clusters — the grouping ONS operates — so a "plant" here may sum several parks. A record only exists when restriction was reported: a period without data is silence at the portal, not zero curtailment. And ONS revises closed months for a few weeks — a recent month’s number can still change, as the research measured.
